HELIX Magazine, an online science writing magazine produced by Science in Society, recently published an article by Science Club alumna Alice P. Alice was part of the “Teen Work Study” program at the Shedd Aquarium, where she had the opportunity to share what she learned about marine animals with visitors.
Alice said, “When speaking with aquarium guests, I found some people are often confused about the difference between an invasive species and a non-native species.”
In her article “Aquatic Invasive Species: It’s Complicated,” Alice explains the difference between invasive and non-native species and discusses the Asian carp as an example. You can read her full piece here.
Way to go, Alice!
